Free River of Light, Liverpool – details for 2025
When – 24th October – 2nd November 2025
River of Light is turning playful for its latest instalment, with 12 large scale installations presented by some of the best light artists in the world, all inspired by the theme of ‘the science of light’.
River of Light is an annual free event that provides an outdoor illuminated gallery on Liverpool’s Waterfront, a loop, featuring light and sound from local, national and international artists.

Ottersghoul, Otterspool adventure, – book now for 2025

Free Viking takeover day, Museum of Liverpool.

Living history reenactors from Wirhalh Skip Felagr, who will be bringing the Viking Age back to life. Find out what life was like in this region more than a thousand years ago, see authentic Viking Age crafts and take your opportunity to ask our ancestors questions as history comes to life.

Aquarium Behind The Scenes Tour, World Museum – book now for 2025

Ever wanted to know what it takes to look after all the amazing animals in our aquarium? Wonder no more! Why not book onto this 20 minute guided tour with one of our knowledgeable aquarium team members.
You’ll be taken into our back of house facilities to see how we look after the animals in our care. Each tour will have a maximum of 10 visitors and is for years 6+ we also ask for a minimum ratio of 3 children to 1 adult.

Families will forage for the ingredients and staff will guide you through how to make the recipes. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Owl pellet workshop, Lunt Meadows
When: 31st October 2025.
You will learn how to take them apart and work out what the owls have been eating from examining the bones inside and using scientific keys. Our friendly team will teach you how to tell the difference between different pellets so that if you find them out and about yourself you will know what birds of prey have left them.
