The school holidays are fast approaching so here you’ll find loads of October half term activities Cheshire 2025. There are plenty of Halloween themed ones and some that have nothing to do with Halloween. This post will focus on those that aren’t about Halloween but it will link to my guides on Halloween events and Pumpkin picking locations in Cheshire too. National Trust half term events across Cheshire
Halloween half-term fun at Quarry Bank – details for 2025
Where: Quarry Bank Mill, Styal
When: 25th October – 2nd November 2025
Cost: Included in admission cost, free for NT members.
Summary: Spooky tours of the Apprentice House. Halloween trail around the Upper Garden. Spooky trail around the Mill. Enjoy Halloween themed crafts in the Learning Space. (Offered Monday to Friday only).

Escape into autumn spotter trail – Hare Hill
When – 25th October – 2nd November 2025.

Skellies and Wellies in the Gardens – 2025 details
Where: Tatton park gardens, Knutsford
When: 25th October – 2nd November 2025
Cost: Included in garden entry that is free for NT members. Vehicle parkland entry also applies
Summary: Find 10 hillarious and haunting skeleton displays around the gardens. Free activity sheet and plenty of photo opportunities.

Tatton park pumpkin patch – details for 2025
Where: Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6QN (Sat Nav WA16 6SG)
When: 11th – 31st October 2025. Selected dates only
Cost: Standard farm admission plus £4 per pumpkin. Pre-booking is essential
Summary: Make a visit to the farm to meet the animals and then head to the pumpkin patch to pick your own.

Myth, magic and mystery, Tatton Park – book now for 2025
When: 30th & 31st October 2025
Have a go at brewing a potion and learn what gruesome ingredients were used for medicines in the past. This event is recommended for families with children aged 7-11 years old.

Halloween at BeWILDerwood – book now for 2025
Where: Bewilderwood, Cheshire
When: 25th October – 2nd November 2025
Cost: £22.95 each (£20.95 for heights between 92cm and 105cm, under 92cm, wheelchair users and carers are free).
Summary: This year is a little different to previous years. Everything is included in a day ticket, it is no longer an evening only event. Play in the day, Halloween activities (including crafts and disco), go Twig or Treating, Glowing Light Trail (between 5-6pm, 4:30 onwards in half term)

Cholmondeley Autumn Festival, Cholmondeley castle – book now for 2025
When – 26th October 2025.
Celebrate autumn with a carved pumpkin trail, apple pressing, toasting marshmallows, autumn crafts, Halloween fancy dress and live music.
Cost – £9 per adult, £4.50 per child (5-15 years). Children are free if they are in fancy dress or bring a carved pumpkin for the competition,

Wayword festival, Storyhouse, Chester
When – 25th October – 2nd November 2025
WayWord Festival celebrates the power of words to ignite imaginations – go on an adventure and discover something new. There’ll be authors and illustrators live on stage, plenty of theatre performances for kids, workshops, storytelling, arts and crafts, exhibitions and more.

Roman Fresco/Comic Making Family Craft Sessions, Grosvenor Museum
When: 31st October 2025.
Get crafty creating your Roman Fresco inspired comic strips. Taking inspiration from objects within the new touring “Gladiators of Britain” exhibition, create your own Gladiator character and immortalise it using your collage and craft skills! What does your Gladiator look like? Are they fighting a beast? Do they win or loose? A fun, family friendly session for everyone to get involved.
