Halloween events Liverpool for families 2024

There’s plenty going on for kids this Halloween in Liverpool. Below you’ll find all the Halloween events Liverpool for families in 2024. There are family-friendly shows, farm events featuring pumpkin carving, Halloween discos and so much more. This post is part of a series of posts on Halloween events North West.

Events maybe changed or cancelled and I will not necessarily be aware of this. Links are providers so you can confirm all details for yourself before travelling or booking. Some of these events require pre-booking so I’d recommend you do that as soon as you decide you want to in order to avoid disappointment.

Spooky Welly Walk is a Halloween-themed sponsored walk packed with Halloween activities and entertainment to keep your little monsters excited this October.

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is celebrating 13 years of Spooky Welly Walk Liverpool and 4 years in Birmingham. We’re super excited to be returning to the beautiful Sefton Park and Cannon Hill Park this October, providing families with a fun-filled day packed with activities for little ones to enjoy and explore.

Unlike typical scare events, this event focuses on atmosphere rather than fear. You won’t find jump scares or gory elements here; instead, the experience invites you to explore the hall’s darkened corners and uncover its secrets. With a backdrop of flickering light and subtle, suspenseful music, every step will make your heart race in anticipation. Included with your ticket, enjoy a warming meal in the Home Farm restaurant before you head into the mysteries of the hall.

Perfect for those aged 12 and over who are looking for a sophisticated, immersive event that doesn’t rely on horror, but instead taps into the mind’s sense of mystery.

Halloween day at Acorn Farm, details for 2024

Lots of fun games & prizes, a fancy dress competition and our spooky haunted house! Normal admission prices apply. Tickets for the haunted house and games will be available to purchase on the day.

Little scarelings at Dobbies Garden Centre, Liverpool & Southport, book now for 2024

Your little scare-lings will sink their fangs into some terrifyingly tasty treats from our Children’s Halloween Afternoon Tea, followed by a spooky gourd decorating activity and fun games with the Dobbies’ ‘monster’ – all while you sit back with a cuppa and a treat to watch them have fun. Fancy dress very much encouraged!

This spooky season join storybarn for an immersive experience for families inspired by the mesmerising children’s picture book, The Café at the Edge of the Woods by Mikey Please, in collaboration with Harper Collins Children’s Books. 

Prepare yourself for a deliciously decadent feast of pickled bats, slugs in goo and maggot fondue. Expect stories, games and crafts but remember, this is no ordinary café, it doesn’t take regular money, so the guests must take part in a treasure hunt led by our Storyhunters to find golden nuggets required to foot the bill.

A flavour of Mexico will come alive once again at Pleasureland! The park will be festooned with brightly coloured sugar skulls creating a fabulous fiesta atmosphere. The evening will consist of a whole host of acts and entertainment from drummers, fire eaters, Mexican Dances, live music and much, much more; all taking place on our new central stage! 

Each evening will conclude with our renowned and stunning firework finale…this is an event NOT to be missed!

Tickets are all inclusive this year, meaning guests will have UNLIMITED access to all our rides ALL NIGHT too!

Gates open at 4pm. This is a ticketed event, all guests must show proof of purchase to gain entry.

Halloween at knowsley Safari – Details for 2024

When – 23rd – 31st October 2024

Between 11am and 4pm each day, families can enjoy a fun-packed pumpkin patch treasure hunt, a haunted garden walk, as well as pumpkin-themed photo opportunities to ensure all those screamingly great memories are captured forever. Fangtastic facepainting is also available for an additional charge.

The pumpkin patch treasure hunt is designed for children under 12 years old, where they’ll receive a Halloween-themed map to navigate their way past friendly ghosts, spooky scarecrows, giant spiders and hundreds of pumpkins, before seeking out a mysterious character for a Halloween treat!

Guests can also get into the spooky spirit by enjoying the amusement  rides and attractions, plus plenty of tongue-tingling refreshments will be available in Oasis Restaurant and the Outdoor Food Court.

1 child free with every full paying adult.

When – 26th October – 2nd November 2024

Participants will be able to choose from a variety of fun spooky trick or treat designs. Children will be able to pull the screens themselves with a facilitator supervising if they choose to, or a parent/guardian can help. There will be ample time during the session for everyone to print their bags and get creative, further personalising them with provided fabric markers if they wish too.

All children must be supervised by an adult. Each ticket admits one supervising adult and one child to participate. If the supervising adult would like to take part in the activity also, please purchase a materials bundle add-on ticket.

When – 27th October 2024.

Donations welcome. 1-3pm. Join local artist, Rachel, to make and create with a halloween twist. Everyone is welcome to join this artist led drop-in session as part of our family programme. Expect halloween crafts and time to make under the palms.

Who killed John Jack Rainford? whodunnit trail at Rainford farm – book now for 2024

When – Every day in October 2024 (interactive trail with actors and a different suspect and demises 28th-30th)

Where – Rainfords Farm, Catchdale Moss Ln, Eccleston, Saint Helens WA10 5QG

Includes free entry to the pumpkin patch. A welly walk with a difference, help solve the mystery.

The trail and the clues are best described as Scooby Doo level of scary!! So if you were always one step ahead of those meddling kids, this is the trail you!

Look for clues along the way, and if you manage to work out the suspect and how he met his end, report back to the Apres Tree Cafe in the barn to claim your dectective medal (included in a child’s ticket).

It is suitable for the whole family, however will be especially enjoyed by ages 5+. The trail should take 45 minutes.

Pumpkin patch farm tots (pumpkin painting) – Rainford farm – book now for 2024

Everything is provided for you including the pumpkin! You will receive your own little painting kit to keep, it includes paint and brushes, although we definitely recommend some finger painting! Head out to the pumpkin patch and choose your own mini pumpkin or gourd to paint.

Pumpkin patch farm tots (storytime) – Rainford farm – book now for 2024

When – 8th, 15th & 22nd October 2024

Where – Rainfords Farm, Catchdale Moss Ln, Eccleston, Saint Helens WA10 5QG, UK

Storytime sessions last about an hour and are filled with so much fun for your little one. Parents and carers are welcome to stick around after each session and grab a coffee and some treats from the Apres Tree Cafe and let your little one explore our designated toddler pumpkin patch full of different shapes, sizes and colours of little pumpkins and gourds. On occasion when the weather allows, Storytime will take place outside in the pumpkin patch!

Sessions are suitable for under 5s.

Spooky picnic in the trees – Rainford farm – book now for 2024

When – Every day October 2024

Where – Rainfords Farm, Catchdale Moss Ln, Eccleston, Saint Helens WA10 5QG, UK

Collect your picnic boxes from the Apres Tree Cafe in the barn and head out through the pumpkins and in amongst the trees to enjoy your sweet and savoury treats. 

Adult picnic box includes a delicious hot savoury pasty of your choice, a cake of your choice, scone with jam and cream and a drink of your choice, either a hot drink, cold drink or a hot mulled apple cider – 3.4%.  Children will receive a halloweeny picnic box including sandwich or sausage roll, crisps, biscuits and either a children’s hot chocolate or a drink.

The picnic tables comfortably fit 6 people.

This is an outdoor event so please dress appropriately for the autumn weather. It will go ahead whatever the weather. Waterproofs and strudy shoes are advisable. Bring a blanket and get cosy! They do have a limited number of tables inside if you would prefer to be by the log fire.
