This website is for you if you live in or are planning a trip to Cheshire, the Lake District, Manchester, Lancashire or Liverpool. There are so many fantastic family attractions, places to walk and more across this gorgeous region.
I’m Claire, a married mum of 2 girls (aged 8 and 11) and we live in Cheshire. However, we have family all over the North and we love exploring. You’ll usually find us out walking or better yet camping in our Mazda Bongo campervan.
I’ve written the blog The ladybirds adventures for over 10 years! It’s all about getting kids outdoors and UK family travel. For a long while, I’ve written about the North West of England on that website but now it’s time for that content to have a home of its own so it can shine!

What to expect
North West for kids has been set up to make it easy to find the best family days out, walks, holidays, museums, events and more.
The North West has so much for families to do. You’ll find theme parks, children’s theatre, miles of gorgeous coastline, mountains to climb, lakes to walk around and so much more. My plan is to make this website the place to visit when you want ideas for the weekend, school holidays, Christmas big days out, and everything else for families!
