There are loads of great family days out in North West England and that is one of the things that this website aims to showcase most alongside all the fantastic Family events in North West England. There are loads of museums, zoos, farms, theme parks and many more types of family attractions. I’m creating individual reviews, guides based on the age of your children, guides to the 5 counties in the North West and even down to specific town and city guides.
This website has loads of room to grow so do keep coming back for more great ideas for things to do with the family in Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester, Lancashire and the Lake District.
Family days out across the North West

Family days out Lake District
The Lake District is one of our favourite regions to visit. It’s great for family walks and boat trips. I bet you didn’t realise there were so many child-friendly attractions in the Lake District. There are farms, zoos, museums, places to see shows and museums.
If you’re going to be visiting the Lakes with young children, then you need to read my guide to things to do in Lake District with toddlers.
It does rain a fair amount in the Lake District but if it didn’t, we wouldn’t have the lakes! Even so, it’s best to have a plan for things to do in the lake district when it rains.

I’ve only just started writing individual attraction guides but expect this to grow rapidly. So far I have written a guide to visiting Brockhole on Windermere with kids. I also have a guide to Whinlatter forest walks. I also have this one on Grizedale forest walks. There’s so much more to do.
If you are in the south, then this Sir John Barrow Monument walk is a great one to view for views without too much effort!
Another family walk in the south Lakes is Low Sizergh Barn farm trail. It’s under 2 miles and perfect for kids.
Not far away is the fantastic Sizergh castle play trail.

Manchester covers the city centre and Greater Manchester too. There are loads of things to do in Manchester for teenagers including bowling, museums, snowboarding and so much more.

Family days out Lancashire
I haven’t written enough about this area of the North West but that’s not because there isn’t loads to do. We love visiting Lytham St Annes, there is loads to do for kids. There’s also loads to do around Preston, Ormskirk and more. There are loads of great family walks and children’s farms as well as the beautiful coast.
