Easter egg hunt at Acorn Bank NT
When: 28th March – 12th April 2026, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Join for a family-friendly Easter trail with fun activities for you to do along the way. Complete the trail and earn your chocolate egg at the end. This year’s theme is all about birds! How many eggs will you spot in the trees? You’ll be tested on your bird knowledge, and you can make your own bird species name too.
Cost: £3.50 per trail, which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan/Free From* chocolate egg.. Normal admission applies to non-members

Easter egg hunt at Allan Bank NT
When – 28th March – 12th April 2026 (selected dates)
Follow in the footsteps of Wordsworth’s children, John, Dora, Thomas, Catherine and William on an Easter trail around the garden at Allan Bank where the family once lived. The trail costs £3.50 and includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan/Free-from chocolate egg. No booking. (Last entry for the trail is 3.30pm).
Starting with decorating your non-edible egg, you’ll then be ready for Georgian inspired fun and games challenging your egg handling skills. And become a hero or a villain, by putting on a cape and picking up a play sword to re-enact your own traditional Easter ‘Pace’ play. Complete the trail and earn your chocolate egg.
Cost – £3.50 plus admission costs for non-members

Easter egg hunt, Wray castle Bank NT
When: 28th March – 12th April 2026
Hop into Easter with a smile and a giggle. Follow the trail through the woods and parkland with views out to the lake and the fells beyond. Complete the 10 activities along the way and earn your chocolate egg at the end.
Cost: £3.50 per trail. This includes an Easter trail map, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family.

A family-friendly Easter trail with fun activities for you to do along the way. Complete the trail and earn your chocolate egg at the end!
Cost – Trails are priced at £3.50 each and are in addition to our entry fee (free entry for National Trust members). Price includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan/Free From* chocolate egg. These easter eggs are available on a first‑come basis while stocks last.

The Lowther Chicken Rap, – Easter garden trail. Lowther Castle

Lizzee Rascal is a free-range rap-rhyming Maran hen who has taken up residence in the gardens at Lowther.

Easter Adventure Quest at Birdoswald Roman fort
When – 28th March – 19th April 2026
Follow the Easter trail, hunt for eggs and answer questions along the way to earn a delicious chocolate reward.
The quest runs every day throughout the school holidays and is just £2 per child for both members and non-members. This is in addition to your admission ticket. There’s no need to book in advance – simply pay and join the quest when you arrive.
