This is my ultimate guide to Easter egg hunts Cumbria. Find all the Easter egg hunts across the Lake District this spring. I will be continuing to update this post up to Easter. This is part of my guide to all the Easter egg hunts North West happening in spring 2026.

Please make sure you click through to the event organisers’ website and check the event is still running prior to travelling to your chosen event. Occasionally events do get cancelled due to severe weather etc and I can’t guarantee I will be aware.

Easter egg hunt at Acorn Bank NT

When: 28th March – 12th April 2026, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Join for a family-friendly Easter trail with fun activities for you to do along the way. Complete the trail and earn your chocolate egg at the end. This year’s theme is all about birds! How many eggs will you spot in the trees? You’ll be tested on your bird knowledge, and you can make your own bird species name too.

Cost: £3.50 per trail, which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan/Free From* chocolate egg.. Normal admission applies to non-members

Easter egg hunt at Allan Bank NT

When – 28th March – 12th April 2026 (selected dates)

Follow in the footsteps of Wordsworth’s children, John, Dora, Thomas, Catherine and William on an Easter trail around the garden at Allan Bank where the family once lived. The trail costs £3.50 and includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan/Free-from chocolate egg. No booking. (Last entry for the trail is 3.30pm).

Starting with decorating your non-edible egg, you’ll then be ready for Georgian inspired fun and games challenging your egg handling skills. And become a hero or a villain, by putting on a cape and picking up a play sword to re-enact your own traditional Easter ‘Pace’ play. Complete the trail and earn your chocolate egg.

Cost – £3.50 plus admission costs for non-members

Easter egg hunt, Wray castle Bank NT

When: 28th March – 12th April 2026

Hop into Easter with a smile and a giggle. Follow the trail through the woods and parkland with views out to the lake and the fells beyond. Complete the 10 activities along the way and earn your chocolate egg at the end. 

Cost: £3.50 per trail. This includes an Easter trail map, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

Easter egg hunt, Sizergh Castle NT

When – 3rd – 6th April 2026

Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family.

Cost: £3.50 per trail, which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From chocolate egg.

Easter egg hunt at Wordsworth House and gardens NT

When – 30th March – 12th April 2026 (closed Thursday, Friday and Saturdays)

A family-friendly Easter trail with fun activities for you to do along the way. Complete the trail and earn your chocolate egg at the end! 

Cost – Trails are priced at £3.50 each and are in addition to our entry fee (free entry for National Trust members). Price includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a dairy or vegan/Free From* chocolate egg. These easter eggs are available on a first‑come basis while stocks last.

Easter at Muncaster Castle

When – 28th – 29th March, 3rd-6th and 11th – 12th April 2026

Protect the Egg & The Big Egg Drop – The Egg-Master is back and setting you a creative and problem solving challenge!

Design and craft a protective shield for your egg – then brace yourself as these creations face the ultimate test in The Big Egg Drop from the castle roof!  Will your shield hold up and safeguard your egg from the fall?

Receive a sticker if your egg survives in one piece!

The Big Muncaster Egg Hunt – Max the Easter Bunny will be setting you all off with your search from The Playground Lawn at 2.45pm. Your quest – to find a decorated pebble which can then be redeemed for an Easter Treat.

Easter Trail – Explore the Gardens with our Easter Spring Trail – a delightful adventure for the whole family. Find the magic word to redeem a small prize at The Gift Shop.

Cost – from £14.50

Tickets include entry to Muncaster Attractions and Children’s tickets include Easter Activities.

Easter Adventure Quest at Birdoswald Roman fort

When – 28th March – 19th April 2026

Follow the Easter trail, hunt for eggs and answer questions along the way to earn a delicious chocolate reward.

The quest runs every day throughout the school holidays and is just £2 per child for both members and non-members. This is in addition to your admission ticket. There’s no need to book in advance – simply pay and join the quest when you arrive.

Easter Eggstavaganza, Walby farm park

When – 28th March – 12th April 2026

Join the team at Walby Farm Park for a chocolate-filled, laughter-packed Easter Eggstravaganza 2026 – with brand-new live shows, sweet surprises, adorable lambs and all your favourite farm fun included in your ticket.

New for 2026 – The Fur-ever Flock Show! (showing daily Monday 30 to Friday 10 April). Meet Shep the Sheepdog and Lollipop the Lamb in our brand-new interactive Easter show.

The Magical Lollipop Machine Experience (showing daily Monday 30 to Friday 10 April). Children who earn a Golden Ticket can post it into the Lollipop Machine and receive a chocolaty surprise straight from the magical contraption.

Giant Easter Egg Trail – Explore the farm and find all the giant Easter eggs hidden around the park.

Golden Egg Hunt – 15 Golden Eggs hidden every single day. Find one and win a prize!

Chocolatiers’ Kitchen – Step inside the Chocolatiers’ Kitchen and let little imaginations run wild! Children can decorate their very own chocolate treat with delicious toppings and colourful designs before taking it home (if it survives the journey!).

Easter weekend, Holker Hall

When – 3rd – 5th April 2026, egg trail only on 6th April 2026.

Celebrate Easter Weekend at Holker Hall & Gardens with a fun-filled programme for the whole family! Enjoy classic garden games on the lawns, circus skills workshops with Andy Jester, get creative with egg decorating and Easter crafts, and embrace the Easter look with a face painter (available Friday and Saturday only), against the beautiful springtime backdrop of the gardens and estate. With plenty of entertainment for children and a relaxed atmosphere for grown-ups, it’s the perfect way to make the most of the Easter holidays at Holker.

Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-duck egg hunt, World of Beatrix Potter

When – 28th March – 18th April 2026

Hidden around Bowness are 23 beautifully decorated ceramic eggs â€“ one for each of Beatrix Potter’s beloved tales. Follow the clues as they lead you through the village, stopping at charming shop windows along the way.

Mini Egg Hunt, The World of Beatrix Potter

When – 3rd – 5th April 2026.

Wander through the Attraction to the Peter Rabbit Garden and keep your eyes peeled as you search high and low for the hidden eggs tucked away among the heritage flowers and vegetables.

Track down all the eggs on the trail and you’ll be rewarded with a tasty little chocolate treat as a sweet celebration of your success!

Alice in Wonderland Easter activities at Lakeland Maze Farm Park

When – 3rd – 6th April 2026

Enjoy an egg hunt with the White Rabbit, Easter crafts and photo opportunities with our Wonderland characters. Of course, Easter eggs will be up for grabs too and you’ll have access to the rest of the farm park as well.
