During the summer months, there can be a lot of pressure to find things to do, but one thing that is growing in popularity is attending pick your own farms and gardens. Many people love the idea of supporting local farms and businesses, and this can actually be a lovely activity to enjoy as a family. Here you’ll find all the pick your own farms in Cheshire 2025. Picking fruit and vegetables with children gives them the opportunity to understand where their food comes from, and it is also a lot of fun picking fresh fruits and then enjoying the produce at home. So if you are looking for a Pick your own farm in Cheshire here are some of the popular ones to add to your list this summer.
I’ve included places that have PYO pumpkins if they also have fruit during the summer seasons. I’ll have a separate post on pumpkin patches in Cheshire ready before the autumn.
The strawberry season usually starts in June and runs to late August or mid-July depending on the varieties planted. None of these farms have released any opening dates for 2025 yet but I have included links to their websites and Facebook pages where they will update and share current opening hours and crop availability. I plan to check regularly and keep this post up to date over the summer too.
Kenyon Hall Farm – Open now for 2025 – booking essential for strawberries
Location: Winwick Lane, Croft, Warrington WA3 7ED

When it comes to finding a pick your own in the north West this is one of the most well-known and popular choices. This farm showcases a whole host of fruit and vegetables. Some are available for pick your own, but the farm shop is always well-stocked with lots of other wonderful locally-grown produce.
There is a cafe, a play area for the kids, and even a plant centre if you feel inspired to grow some things of your own. You will also find a host of events throughout the year.
Fruit picking is available from June, there is a maize maze to explore in the summer months, and a chance to pick sunflowers. Lastly, the pumpkin festival in October is always very popular. A great option to consider.

Poynton Fruit Farm – Not opening in 2025
Location: Coppice Road, Poynton, Stockport SK12 1SW

This is a great place to visit if you are looking for a pick your own fruit farm that has a good selection of different fruit available. Opening in the summer months, you can enjoy a wide range of fruit. the pick your own fields are free entry and there is free parking too.
Open from June 2024 for strawberries, gooseberries raspberries and currants (they will be better in a few weeks though – comment made on 20th June 2024).
Only open on Wednesday afternoons 2-6pm and Saturday 10-2pm, no other days. Cash or card.
The Facebook page will be the place to get the most up-to-date information on this pick your own farm. There is a shop selling drinks and it serves delicious ice cream. The perfect day out for the family on a warm summer’s day.

Woore Fruit Farm – opens now for 2025
Location: Newcastle Road, Woore, Crewe CW3 9RE
Fruit and vegetables available: This does seem to vary each season so I will update as soon as the details for 2025 are released. Please make sure you check with the farm if you are looking to pick a specific crop.

This is one of those hidden gems that delivers throughout the summer and into October. During the summer you can enjoy the opportunity to pick some delicious fruit. It is free to enter and you only pay for what you pick. In October, this little farm goes all out for Halloween.
Not only is there a wonderful pumpkin patch but a spooky trail and lots of fun Halloween decorations to marvel at. This farm has a cafe that proudly serves delicious jacket potatoes and warm drinks. This is a great place to visit with the family during the summer months.

Bearstone Fruit Farm – now open for 2025
Location: Bearstone Fruit Farm, Knighton, Market Drayton TF9 4HJ

This might be a little further afield but it is a lovely pick your own farm to consider. Closed until the summer months you will find a vast selection of fruit available. There is also a pumpkin season in October which is perfect if you are looking for some half-term inspiration. During the summer there will also be seasonal vegetables available. Just check the website or social media for the full low down. This is a lovely location to visit.
Opening dates for strawberries: Open now for strawberries and spring onions more fruit and veg to follow. No need to book.
£2 per person min spend. Strawberries £6.50/kg, no dogs in the field.

Claremont farm – now closed for 2025
Location: Claremont Farm, Old Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, Wirral, CH63 4JB

The pick your own strawberries have started for 2025.
There is also a farm shop, butchers, seafood shack and cafe on the farm all year round.

Bellis Brothers – now open for 2025
Location: Bellis Brothers Farm Shop and Garden Centre, Wrexham Road Farm, Wrexham Rd, Holt Village, Wrexham LL13 9YU.

- pumpkins
This farm might be just over the border in Wales but I had to include it as they offer lots of different fresh produce to pick from early June to mid-August. You park in a separate car park to the main farm and garden centre but you can always head there afterwards as there is the garden centre, farm shop, play area and cafe. Debit cards (and credit cards are accepted).
No booking required, no parking charge and no entry fee.

Libby’s patch, Macclesfield – now closed for 2025
Location: Shellow Lane, Macclesfield, SK11, 9RS
Fruit and vegetables: Strawberries and pumpkins (in the autumn)

Delamere farm shop – Now open for 2025
Location: Coronation Farm, Station Road, Delamere CW8 2HZ

No booking required, no dogs allowed.

Norseman Farm, Macclesfield – No PYO berries in 2025
Location: Norseman Farm, Congleton Lane, Macclesfield, SK11 9LD
Fruit and vegetables: Honeyberries. These berries are packed with high antioxidants, they have three times the antioxidants of blueberries.

Pre-booking is required due to the limited amount of spaces. Additional punnets can be purchased on site on your arrival. No dogs, except for service dogs. £4 per kg.
