What better way to spend a sunny day than enjoying an ice cream in the sunshine. There are lots of great places to enjoy ice cream in Lancashire and many have play areas or are part of a children’s farm. Find the best ice cream parlours Lancashire for a family day out. Now obviously I haven’t visited every one of these but I have visited a few and I hope to visit more this summer. These all come recommended though by the members of my Facebook group for families in the North West.

Billy Bobs

Location – Billy Bob’s Parlour, North Planks Farm, Garstang Road, Myerscough, PR3 5AD.

This is a fantastic ice cream parlour that we love as well as many of our readers too. The ice cream sundaes in the American style diner are amazing and you’re kids will love the indoor blay barn and large outdoor play area.

Dairy free options – Vegetarian desserts available but no mention of vegan/dairy-free ice cream.

Wallings, Garstang

Location – Wallings farm, Garstang road, Cockerham, Lancaster, LA2 0HA

Wallings farm have been making real dairy ice cream since 1986. They also serve hot drinks, cold drinks and there is a cafe too. You can enjoy ice cream and Italian Gelato in a range of flavours that change regularly.

As well as lots of different ice cream flavours, you’ll also find waffles and pancakes with a range of toppings available.

There’s also a chocolate shop too where they sell their homemade chocolates!

Mrs Dowsons Farm Park

Location – Mrs Dowsons Farm Park, Hawkshaw Farm, Longsight Road, Clayton-le-Dale, Ribble Valley, Lancashire, BB2 7JA

Tub of ice cream

Mrs Dowsons Farm make the most delicious ice cream in a range of flavours which change regularly including seasonal specials. There is free parking and the ice cream parlour is in the courtyard before you pay admission to the farm.

The farm is an additional fee but it is a great family day out with lots of farm animals to see and lots of indoor and outdoor play opportunities. The new huge indoor playground is fantastic!

Dottie’s Wafflery

Frederick’s Ice cream

The milking Parlour, Clitheroe

Location: 2-4 Parsons Lane, Clitheroe. Opposite the castle entrance.

Here you can enjoy Artisan ice cream made to a traditional Italian Gelato recipe. They also make and serve waffles and milkshakes. Through the winter you can enjoy warm and gooey chocolate brownies.
