Free Easter events North West 2026

There are loads of Easter events over the next couple of weeks but I know how expensive the school holidays can feel so I’m sharing free Easter events North West England (and very low cost). This post is part of my series of posts on Easter events North West England 2026.

Please make sure you click through to the event organisers’ website and check the event is still running prior to travelling to your chosen event. Occasionally events do get cancelled due to severe weather etc and I can’t guarantee I will be aware.

Free Easter events Manchester

Broad Oak Easter hearts trail, Fletcher Moss Park

When – 2nd – 19th April 2026

Get your trail map from the food truck and find all the hearts with Easter illustrations around the park. No chocolate eggs for this one.

Free – The Stanley Square Big Dino Egg Hunt, Sale

When – 3rd – 11th April 2026.

Millions of years ago… the dinosaurs hid their eggs to keep them safe. Now the eggs have reappeared around Stanley Square and the Dino Keepers need help finding them before they hatch! Find all the eggs and match them to the dinosaurs.

Complete your trail sheet, dino tracker card and trivia questions. Easter treats at the end!

Easter Egg Hunt at Heaton Moor Park

When – 4th April 2026, 10-11:30am

For children from age 0 up to and including School Year 6. Enter from Park Road entrance (SK4 4PY)

Suggested donation – £3.00 per child for up to 4 Easter Eggs + 1 child’s drink of squash

Get a Registration card, and then find and collect corks in the park to exchange for Easter Eggs. There are also special corks that will gain you a special prize. Different age groups look for different colours of cork.

Easter egg hunt at Heaton Park

When – 3rd – 6th April 2026

The Easter Bunny is hiding in the park, and he’s left a trail of eggs to find him! Pick up a leaflet at the Stables and follow the eggs to find the clues to the secret
phrase. When you find the Bunny, tell him the secret phrase and collect your
chocolate egg!

Easter Chick Hunt at Ordsall Hall

There are 8 chicks hiding out at Ordsall Hall. Trails cost £2 per participating child and can be purchased on arrival at Ordsall Hall reception desk on the dates and times stated.

Free Easter events Cheshire

Knutsford Bunny hop, Knutsford Town Council

When – 4th April 2026, between 12 – 4pm

Families can find bunnies hidden around the town centre which will each have a letter attached to them. You note down the letter on your entry forms and completed entry forms can then be posted into dedicated post boxes to enter a prize draw! 

There is plenty to enjoy on the day as well as the trail, including fun and games at our Market Hall on Silk Mill Street, competitions and activities of all sorts on the day! Expect to see costumes, Easter window displays and have lots of fun!

The theme for 2026 is Peter Rabbit & friends. Feel free to dress up too if you’d like – there might even be prizes for this on the day.

Brereton Heath Easter Hunt, Brereton Heath Nature reserve

Ranger Mark’s Easter Eggs have been stolen! Can you help him find the wildlife that has taken them and collect their names? Pick up a map from near the visitor centre and get searching around the park.

Ranger Mark’s Easter Eggs have been stolen! Can you help him find the wildlife that has taken them and collect their names?

Purchase a map from The Nose Coffee for 50p. Once you have completed the trail, pop back to the cafe for 50p off your food and drink. Pack a pen or pencil.

Collect your paper map from Waitrose, the Library and Leisure Centre.

With 14 bunnies to find around town and Easter eggs in selected shop windows.

Pick up your trail sheet, follow the map, and tick off the bunnies as you find them, then complete the Easter eggs section by drawing or writing what you spot in each window.

Room on the broom trail at Delamere Forest

This short family walk is themed on room on the broom this year. There is an optional £4 activity pack.

Easter family fun day, Lytham Hall

When – 5th April 2026.

The Easter Bunny has hidden her eggs in the woods so come and help her find them. There are lots of creatures hiding in the woods so watch out for the Fox. Collect some eggs and the Easter Bunny will give you a chocolate surprise.

Come and enjoy Cake decorating, Bouncy Castle, Kids Tombola, Bookstall, Easter Crafts and fun Games.

Easter events Affinity Lancashire (Fleetwood)

When – 28th March – 12th April 2026

This Easter you can join the Kawaii Animal Adventure here at Affinity Lancashire – and it’s completely free.

Find the animals in the shop windows, then write the hidden letters on your trail sheet to spell out Captain Cod’s cute Kawaii name!

Fill in your details and post your form into the entry box near the centre entrance for the chance to win a Kawaii themed prize. This is a free self-led trail around the centre.

On Saturday 28th March you can make your very own Bee & Bug Hotel at our Little Cod Club. Captain Cod will be making an appearance too!

On Tuesday 31st March meet Derpy the Kpop Tiger and on Wednesday 1st April follow our Farmyard Trail to claim your farmyard prize! Meet Baby B the Mystery Box Bunny on Thursday 3rd April and then on Friday 3rd April craft a Chicken Leg Egg Cup at our workshop and get a yummy choccy treat!

On Easter Saturday, 4th April, join in our Easter Egg Hunt to claim your very own farm themed air-walker and on Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8thand Thursday 9th April have some farmyard fun meeting tour visiting farm animals!

Finally, on Saturday 11th April, you can get creative at our Posey Pig Pops Workshop where you also find free face painting!

As always the event will be full of Easter fun and promises to be an eggcelent day out for all the family! There will be a market, funfair rides, live music and loads of free activities to keep the crowds entertained.

Easter egg case hunt – Knott End

When – 31st March 2026, 2- 4pm

Easter clubs and crafts at Brockholes

When – 28th March – 12th April 2026

Each day will feature a different hands on craft inspired by the season, from colourful Easter decorations to wonderful spring-themed art that you can proudly take home.

We will also be hosting a variety of clubs throughout the holidays including the return of our popular LEGO® club where you can design and build until your heart’s content. 

Or why not have a go at one of our activity workshops, we have everything from slime making and science experiments to rock painting. These workshops include the kit and workshop space to carry out your activity as well as unlimited squash and biscuits! We have limited spaces on each of the workshops so pre-booking is advised, prices are £5.50 online and £6.00 if you decide to pay on the day. 

With a mixture of free and paid events available, there is something for everyone at Brockholes this Easter so bring along the whole family!

Eggsplore the Shore, Lytham St Annes

When – 8th April 2026

Join the team this Easter for a brilliant coastal adventure as we search the strandline for shark, skate, and ray eggcases washed up on the beach. You’ll also be on the lookout for interesting shells, seaweed, and other fascinating finds, while learning about the incredible marine life around our shores. Perfect for nature enthusiasts and beachcombers of all ages!

Easter egg hunt, Winstanley park

When – 3rd – 5th April 2026.

Start your day off with a little sand art crafting, before setting off on an adventure through the woodlands on our Easter Egg Trail.

Our trail is unlike any other, a woodland adventure that’s full of surprises! Follow the clues to find all 10 Easter items for your basket, then swap your basket for a chocolate surprise at the end! 

Along the way you will find bunnies hanging from trees, hidden eggs on the ground and you may even bump into the Easter Bunny!

Food/Refreshments will also be on hand, where the children can play on the FREE bouncy castles and adults can rest for that much needed hot drink. Props will be up around the trail that make the perfect selfie opportunities (we’d appreciate a tag in these!) 

Donkey rides will also be available and these will be chargeable on the day at cost of £2.50

Easter Dragon Eggventure. Samlesbury Hall

When – 30th March – 12th April 2026

Join the Dragon Master and his lovable pet dragon Gilbert for a mythical experience at Samlesbury Hall this Spring.  Dragon EGGventure is more than a simple egg hunt, it’s a quest to re-discover the lost stories of magical creatures from the legends of Britain.  Explore the hall and grounds to follow the quest – you might even find some treasure.

With live action puppetry, in a medieval manor, come along and seek eggs at Samlesbury Hall this Easter.

Experience lasts approximately 30 minutes, followed by a dragon egg hunt. Every completed hunt gets “treasure” on completion (a mini golden chocolate egg)

£10 (+booking fee) per child, Accompanying adults (up to 2 per child) enter free of charge.

Cuerden Easter Egg Hunt

When – 3rd – 6th April 2026

Pick up a map from Cuerden Community Shop (Opposite Cuerden View Cafe) and solve the clues to find all the Eggs in our Pinetum on Berkeley Drive – PR5 6BY

Maps cost £2 and you will receive a prize upon finishing!

Community shop is open Friday 3rd April – Monday 6th of April, 10am – 3pm

No need to book – just turn up at the shop.

Family willow bunny workshop, Heysham Nature Reserve

When – 9th April 2026

Join Julie from Pip Cottage to make your very own willow bunny to use as a wreath decoration this Easter and take part in a spring trail around the reserve. You also have an option to make a willow bunny or bunny crown. All materials, tools and step by step instruction and help are provided. 
Suitable for ages 5 years and above, one child with supervising adult can make a bunny. Refreshments will be available.

Easter Xplorer at Brockholes

When – 28th March – 12th April 2026

Explore Brockholes, find the markers, complete the challenge and have fun together! Brought to you in partnership with British Orienteering, Xplorer is the perfect outdoor activity to get the whole family outside in the fresh air together! There are certificates for those completing the challenge along with a sweet treat!

There are 2 courses available:

Challenge 1 – The markers you need to find are located on or next to surfaced paths and the route is pram friendly. The markers are in number order and form a circular route and is perfect for those who are new to Brockholes or to orienteering or visiting with younger children.  

Challenge 2 – This course represents more of a challenge and you will need to use your navigation skills to track down the markers located across the reserve! Not suitable for prams. 

Each map pack contains – One map (either challenge 1 or 2), one answer sheet, a Brockholes Pencil and full instructions. On completion you will receive the answers, a certificate and a sweet treat!

£5.50 if books online, £6.50 on the day.

Free Easter events Liverpool

Free Cristal Palace, Southport

When – 3rd & 4th April 2026

Over the Easter weekend, Lord Street will be transformed into an open air ballroom for thousands of party goers as we welcome French theatre company Transe Express to town!

This breathtaking show will travel through 150 years of music and dance all underneath a 15m wide chandelier stage. This is a show that has to be seen to be believed.

Free Easter Trail Lunt Meadows

When – 4th April 2026

Starting at the Lunt Meadows Learning Centre, you will collect your question pack ready to set of on your adventure. Explore the wonders of Lunt Meadows as you follow this self led trail around the reserve. Discover the vast amounts of wildlife and incredible habitats whilst you hunt for the missing eggs to complete your trail sheet. On completion be sure to head back to our learning centre and collect your Easter themed reward and take part in some Easter themed crafts! 

At 2:30pm there is a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny in the Education Centre!

Free Easter Bunny trail at Royal Albert Dock

When – 30th March – 12th April 2026

Children can explore the dock to find 16 colourful bunny vinyls, each displaying a letter that helps spell a hidden Easter phrase. Solve the puzzle for a chance to win a spectacular family day out at the dock.

Start your adventure on the inner quay, where families can pick up a trail map, bunny ears, and a sticker for free from Roly’s Fudge or The Nest. 

Use the map to hunt for the bunny vinyls hidden in venue windows, on food trucks, and in special locations. Once all letters are collected, unscramble them to reveal the secret phrase and submit your answer online to enter the prize draw.

The lucky winner will enjoy a family ticket for Splash Tours, arts and crafts goodies from The Nest, treats from Roly’s Fudge, and so much more.

Workshops will run from 12pm–4pm on 31st March, 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th April, offering hours of seasonal fun for little ones.

From 3rd to 6th April, a Dock Shorts animation will be projected onto the façade of the Maritime Museum, transforming the iconic building into a colourful Easter spectacle from 6:30pm-10pm.

Room on broom trail at Whinlatter Forest

Open every day during the Easter holidays. Complete the 1 mile long Julia Donaldson themed walk with loads of boards with activities for kids. Optional trail packs are £4.
