Christmas events Manchester 2025

There are only a handful of Christmas events Manchester with tickets on sale for 2025 yet. I’m sure the number will grow rapidly over the next few months and as I spot them, I’ll add them to this guide. Find more Christmas Events North West here.

I’ve done my best to add the details of all these events accurately and keep them up to date but I strongly advise you to click through and check on the organiser’s website to ensure the dates, locations, times are correct. Events maybe changed or cancelled and I will not necessarily be aware of this. Links are providers so you can confirm all details for yourself before travelling or booking. Some of these events require pre-booking so I’d recommend you do that as soon as you decide you want to in order to avoid disappointment.

Christmas light trails in Greater Manchester

Christmas at Dunham Massey 2025 – 2025 tickets on sale now

When: 14th November 2025 to 3rd January 2026

Where: Dunham Massey, Altrincham

Cost: from Adult Off Peak – £19.00, Child (3-16 Years) Off Peak – £12.50. Prices vary between dates and times.

Masses of twinkling lights and giant glowing deer welcome you to the beautiful and iconic atmosphere of Dunham Massey after dark. Discover new light and sound installations for 2025 as colour-changing batons of light stretch out into the far distance and winding paths pass tunnels of stars. Watch lights dance along the lawn and discover larger-than-life flowers that tower overhead. There’s usually a chance to get a magical glimpse of Father Christmas too.

The trail is approximately one mile long and we’d recommend allowing 1 to 2 hours for your visit. Food, drink and fairground rides are available onsite.

Glow at RHS Bridgewater 2025 – tickets for 2025 on sale now

When: Selected date from 26th November – 30th December 2025.

Cost: Members: adult from £8.75, child from £4.50, Non-members: adult from £13.50, child from £7.25

Take an enchanted walk through RHS Garden Bridgewater, marvelling at spectacular light displays along your way. Weave through yew domes festooned with fairy lights, stroll through the illuminated archways of the Kitchen Garden. At Garden Cottage hit the rainbow dancefloor and lose yourself in a soundtrack of Manchester anthems (chosen by you).

The Twilight trail, Mayfield Park – book now for 2025

When: 13th November -23rd December 2025

Where: Mayfield park, Boardman Gate Entrance, Baring Street, Manchester, M1 2PY

An immersive light show trail, designed for all ages, from families, couples, groups, and everyone in between.

Northern lights at Heaton Park – book now for 2025

When: 20th November – 31st December 2025

Cost: Adult tickets from £15-£23.95, Children from £5-£16.50

New for 2025! This might be a new light trail to Heaton Park but the team behind it have been successfully running trails in Newcastle and Leeds.

Expect a 1 mile long trail with around 14 illumination zones. There will of course be plenty of food and drink stalls.

Santa’s Grotto in Manchester

These events are more than a simple Santa’s grotto but they do include a visit to Father Christmas as part of a larger event.

Farmer Christmas Experience, Reddish Vale Farm – Book now for 2025

Where: Reddish Vale Farm

When: selected dates from 29th November – 24th December 2025

Cost: Adults £16.50, Child £46.50, under 1s £10

This event includes a full tour of the North Pole Christmas Headquarters. You’ll join the elf academy, build your own Christmas Friend (Build A teddy Bear) and meet the Pole Office Elves.

Head to Elf Ville, don’t forget to stop at Holly Jolly Gumdrop Sweet Shop and receive a special treat. Visit Mrs Claus to decorate gingerbread with a festive treat for the grown ups. Visit Santa’s stables with his farmyard friends. Meet Father Christmas.

Christmas at Cockfields – 2025 tickets on sale now

When: Selected dates from 29th November – 24th December 2025.

Cost: Adults £25.82 – £46.95, Children £32.97-£59.95, under 1s £12.62 -£22.95

This event includes a magical train ride to the North Pole where you will meet Santa in his grotto. Wander around the elf village. You will receive a magical golden coin from Santa to exchange for a toy in Santa’s toy shop.

You’ll also stroll through the enchanted forest, watch a Christmas show and build your own bear. Don’t forget to decorate a treat with Mrs Claus, meet the reindeer and visit the North Pole post office,

Christmas on the farm, Lancaster Park & animal farm – 2025 tickets on sale

Where: Lancaster park, Middleton Road, Chadderton, Oldham, OL1 2TG

When: Selected dates from 6th – 24th December 2025

Cost: Adults £13.62, children £16.77, under 1 £6.81 Includes farm and grotto.

Summary: Journey through the magical grotto and meet the Grinch, write your letter to Santa, meet the big man and even have your photo taken in his sleigh. Join Mrs Claus for a story and so much more. There’ll also be animal petting and all the usual fun on the farm.

Santa’s post box, The Hive, Moss Bank Park – book now for 2025

When: 8th November – 7th December 2025

Write your letter to Santa at home, before heading off on a winter walk to Santa’s Post Box at Moss Bank Park following our self-led trail.

Make sure you find Santa’s address on route or your letter won’t make it to Lapland!

Once you’ve posted your letter, don’t forget to collect your warming hot chocolate from our Visitor Village.

Letter packs include envelopes, a Pencil, full instructions and a trail map to help you find Santa’s address and Santa’s Post Box plus a voucher for one hot chocolate from the Visitor Village on your return.

Santa will reply to your letter (we’ve checked!)

Animal crackers at Lyme Park – details for 2025

Free (admission fees apply to none members), booking not required.

The third year of Animal Crackers sees Fox returning with his host of wild and wonderful friends, alongside a mystery guest.

Join in the theatrical fun as Animal Crackers takes you on a self-guided journey of mischievous merrymaking through the house, designed by artist Sophie Tyrell. Have a dance party with King Stag, perform a puppet show, and do karaoke with the badgers. With larger-than-life installations and a traditional Christmas theme, it’s an immersive and festive experience for all the family.

The Polar Express pyjama party, The light Stockport – details for 2025

When: 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th December 2025

Snuggle up in your cosiest pyjamas and gather round for a special screening of The Polar Express at The Light. Christmas bricktacular, Legoland Discovery Centre – book now for 2025

When: 22nd November – 30th December 2025

Families can enjoy a packed programme of festive-themed activities alongside access to rides, LEGO build and play zones, and 4D cinema experiences. Build and decorate LEGO gingerbread houses to display for others to admire, create unique LEGO snowflakes, and rock around the LEGO Christmas tree at pop-up dance parties with mascot friends.

Young builders can take part in a festive scavenger hunt through MINILAND, spin the advent wheel to win treats, and capture magical moments at awesome photo opportunities throughout the attraction.

Journey to the LEGO® North Pole and meet Santa with a difference! Head into the grotto for a special experience where every child receives an awesome gift. Perfect for capturing those memorable festive moments with cameras at the ready.

Visitors can add the LEGO Grotto experience when booking their LEGOLAND Discovery Centre ticket. It’s recommended to select a grotto time at least 30 minutes after attraction entry.

Winter holidays at Manchester Museum of science and industry – details for 2025

Bramall Hall decorated for Christmas – no details yet for 2025

When – selected dates from 20th November 2024 – 5th January 2025

Explore the Hall beautifully decorated for Christmas, with a theme inspired by the Northern Lights. Come and enjoy a cascade of colour to tickle the senses and help you find that Christmas spirit. The Hall has been decorated by a team of some 30 dedicated floral design volunteers working alongside the Bramall Hall team.

Bramall Hall Christmas Elf Trail 2025

When: Selected dates from 27th November – 21st December 2025

The elves are back at Bramall Hall and up to their tricks again!

Bramall Hall is beautifully decorated for Christmas, which means our cheeky elves have moved in once again!

Snippet, Cranberry and Squire are just a few of our festive friends that are looking forward to seeing you.

Search the Hall and discover our cheeky elves, they are both naughty and nice.

Where: The Hive at Moss Bank Park , Moss Bank Park, Bolton, BL1 7NJ

Come to The Hive for a Christmas campfire with marshmallow toasting, Christmas songs and natural festive crafts. We’ll have lots of Christmas fun with games, crafts and natural activities for a fun filled festive time!

Make sure you wrap up warm for the crisp winter days, and bring along your loudest singing voices for some jolly Christmas songs.

Ice skating at the Trafford Centre – temporary Christmas Ice Rink – book now for 2025

When: 22nd November 2025 – 5th January 2026

Embark on a 45 minute ice-skating adventure and glide into the festive spirit on the shimmering ice rink, surrounded by festive cheer and sparkling lights. Skate under the stars with friends and family, before warming up with a cup of hot chocolate.

Tickets for ice skating and the Christmas fairground must be purchased separately. Ice skating tickets are £18.70 for everyone 13+ and £15.40 for children for a 45-minute ice skating session.
