The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse, Blackpool
Blackpool is getting a new Merlin attraction that is sure to be a big hit with young children and their grown-ups. The Gruffalo and Friends clubhouse, Blackpool opened on the 19th May 2023 on Blackpool seafront. The much-loved author and illustrators, Julia Donaldson and Axel Sheffler have partnered up with Merlin Entertainments and Magic Light Pictures to create this £2.3 million family attraction. The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse brings together six of the best-loved stories to create an indoor play adventure like no other. So far, we have seen photos of 4 of the six book-themed play areas and they look fantastic for families.

In the new Blackpool experience, guests will burst through the pages of some of their favourite stories and into a magical 3D world. From The Gruffalo’s deep dark wood to Princess Pearl’s castle in Zog, guests will embark on an adventure of imagination, discovery and play as they join their favourite characters.
Where is The Gruffalo and Friends clubhouse?
The Gruffalo and Friends clubhouse is on Blackpool seafront, next to SEA LIFE Blackpool. There is no onsite parking. You will need to find nearby parking and walk to the attraction.

Which books are the play areas themed on?
There are distinct play zones that are inspired by The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, Zog, The Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom and The Highway Rat. How fun does this sound for young children?
What age is The Gruffalo and Friends clubhouse suitable for?
The attraction will include play areas suitable for children under the age of 10. There will be a play area specifically for toddlers (children under 3 years old).
How long can I spend at The Gruffalo and Friends clubhouse?
The Gruffalo and Friends clubhouse website says that this is a 75 minute attraction.

How much does it cost to visit?
Standard tickets cost £13.50 for children between 1 and 14 years and £4.50 for adults. You can also buy combined tickets with attractions such as the Peter Rabbit Explore and Play, sea life Blackpool and the Blackpool tower.
These multi-attraction tickets work out cheaper than buying them individually and you have 90 days to use them.
